Kenny Lu - Why I Did It!

I was born in Taiwan, moved to South Africa, and immigrated to United States of America. After travelling and seeing the world, there is no other country like America. I have always thought America is the land of opportunity and freedom.

After becoming the state badminton open champion at 17 years old, I started a business coaching badminton. I wanted impact the community in a very positive way by introducing the sport of badminton to children. My vision was to move them away from computers, video games, and bring them to a positive environment where confidence, exercise, and social skills can be developed. Today the program has merged and emerged to be one of the most successful in USA.

As a child, my parents raised me wanting me to become a doctor. In college I decided to pursue dentistry, but after volunteering at a friend's dental clinic for 2 months, I realized that I was not a 9 to 5 person. I did not like the idea that I had to go to work in a confined area everyday.

I was at a point in my life where I needed to make some decisions. My dad taught me the concept to build contacts so that I could develop the skills of communication and a strong network of relationships. He believed it would be crucial to for my success. Indeed he was correct.

In 2003, one day before my college finals, I was invited to a meeting where there were very successful people. I met my mentor Steven Hines at the meeting. After I saw the presentation and I realized that there was so much potential. I was hungry and motivated to be successful because I could see myself being a person promoting good values to change lives of other people, and by doing that I could take care of my parents and my future financially, in other words "making lots of money".

Today, I can't express the gratitude I have for my mentor and my team. My joy is spending time with family, raising my daughter being daddy daycare and growing my business globally. When I was younger, I did not want to participate in the 9-5 lifestyle. I often ask myself this question from an event that I attended.  "Where would my life be 5 years from now? If I am doing the same things everyday over and over again, I will have the same outcome. Will that accomplish my goals in life? If not, then change is extremely important." When I work with my friends, I remind them, awake your ambition. There is a lion in you that is very powerful and can do great things. Believe!

My hope is that I can connect with many people who I can relate with, who want to help their parents, who want to spend time with family, and at the same time make money by helping others.

Our team is also very supportive of social causes around world, and I am proud to be able to impact children in need around the world.
